Scripture: Luke 14:13–14 (NRSV)
"But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you..."
Reflection:
Jesus challenges us to expand the guest list. He pushes against the natural tendency to only gather with people like us—those we’re comfortable with or who can give us something in return. Kin-dom hospitality welcomes those who are often excluded, unseen, or underestimated. True welcome starts when we ask: Who’s missing?—and then go out to find them.
Application (Action):
Name someone missing from your table, your group, or your ministry—and pray for them by name. Let prayer be the start of action.
Writing Prompt:
Who might be missing from your community circle—and why? What would it take to make room for them?
Prayer:
Jesus, you invited those the world overlooked. Help me see with your eyes today—eyes that notice absence, make space, and welcome without expecting anything in return. May my life reflect your generous love. Amen.
