Scripture: Micah 6:8 — “What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
Reflection:
Micah shifts our focus from ritual to relationship. God is not impressed by offerings that cost us little while we ignore the cries of the poor or the pain of the oppressed. God’s desire is clear: justice, kindness, humility.
When we gather at the Table, we commit to live in this way. Communion is not just a gift to receive but also a call to embody God’s justice daily.
Application: Do one small act of kindness today that costs you something, whether it’s time, energy, or comfort.
Writing Prompt: How does sharing at Christ’s Table influence the way I understand justice, kindness, and humility?
Prayer:
God of justice and mercy, help me to not only worship with my words but also demonstrate it through my life. Teach me to act justly, love kindly, and walk humbly with you. Amen.
