Scripture: Matthew 2:12 (NRSV)
Reflection:
The magi did not stay where the star guided them. After meeting the Christ child, they returned home by a different road, changed, attentive, and open to new directions. The star did not keep them in one place; it prompted them to move forward.
A star-word works similarly. Some days it will feel clear and near. Other days it may fade into the background. That does not mean it has failed. It means the word has done what it was meant to do, open you to God’s presence along the way.
Even when the star is no longer visible, the journey goes on. And God remains with you, through everyday routines, unexpected twists, and paths that are still unfolding.
Practice:
Offer gratitude for the journey ahead, trusting God’s presence beyond what is visible.
Writing Prompt:
As I move into the days ahead, what hope am I carrying with me?
Prayer:
Faithful God,
as I continue on my journey,
walk with me.
When the path is clear, steady my steps.
When it is uncertain,
remind me that your light—
and your presence—
are enough.
Amen.
