Scripture: Habakkuk 2:3 (NRSV)
“For there is still a vision for the appointed time… If it seems to tarry, wait for it; it will surely come, it will not delay.”
Reflection:
We often mistake God’s slowness for God’s absence. But delay does not mean denial. Habakkuk reminds us that divine timing operates differently from ours. The vision “awaits an appointed time”—a phrase that encourages trust not only in the what but also in the when.
God’s promises are not empty. They ripen in their season. Waiting teaches faith to breathe—to rest in a timeline bigger than our own urgency. What if the waiting is part of the transformation, not just the frustration?
Application:
Think of one hope or dream you’ve been eager to see come true. Today, practice letting go of control and praying for trust instead of rushing.
Writing Prompt:
What do you discover about yourself during times of waiting?
Prayer:
Faithful God, teach me to wait without fear. Remind me that your timing is wise, your purposes good, and your promises sure. Amen.
