Scripture: Colossians 1:20 (NRSV)
“…through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross.”
Reflection
Peace in Scripture is not merely the absence of conflict. It signifies wholeness, justice, and restored relationships. Paul states that God is reconciling all things—meaning everything in the universe and our personal lives.
This means the work of peace begins where we are. Christ’s reconciling love calls us to take the next faithful step toward healing. Sometimes that step is telling the truth. Sometimes it’s offering forgiveness. Sometimes it’s releasing a resentment that has been quietly shaping our spirit.
The peace Christ offers is costly—not because God is harsh, but because healing requires our participation. The love that creates peace also invites us into it.
