Scripture: Romans 15:7 (NRSV)
"Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God."
Reflection:
The foundation of Christian welcome isn’t strategy or personality—it’s Jesus. We welcome others not because they meet our expectations, but because Christ welcomed us at our most broken, confused, or unfinished. His welcome wasn’t hesitant or polite—it was complete. When we grasp that truth, it changes how we receive others.
Application (Action):
Take a moment today to accept someone else’s kindness without rushing past it. Let your welcome start by allowing yourself to be welcomed—then observe how that feels.
Writing Prompt:
Where in your life have you experienced Christ’s welcome—directly or through others? What did it feel like?
Prayer:
Welcoming God, thank you for receiving me without hesitation or condition. Help me remember the grace that found me and extend that grace to someone else today. Let my welcome point to your love. Amen.
