Scripture: Isaiah 60:1–3 (NRSV)
Reflection:
Epiphany reveals a powerful truth: God’s light is not hidden or reserved. It shines for travelers, seekers, and strangers alike. The star did not belong to the magi; it simply met them on the road because they were willing to look up and follow where it led.
A star-word isn’t something to check off or wear as a badge. It’s a perspective, a way to notice how God’s presence might already be woven into your days. Over time, the word could reveal new layers of meaning, not because you force it, but because you stay attentive.
And if you don’t have a word in hand, you aren’t missing out. The invitation of Epiphany is the same for all of us: pay attention. God’s light continues to break through ordinary moments, inviting us to notice what has been there all along.
Practice:
Pause once today and ask, “What is being illuminated for me right now?”
Writing Prompt:
Where have I already seen light breaking in, unexpectedly or quietly?
Prayer:
God of revelation,
help me rise to the light you provide.
Open my eyes to your presence—
not only in grand moments,
but also in ordinary ones.
Amen.
