Scripture: Galatians 3:28
“There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.”
Reflection:
The outpouring of God’s Spirit breaks down the boundaries we create. In Joel’s vision, the Spirit crosses all social lines; in Paul’s teachings, the gospel eliminates divisions that once defined worth and belonging. God refuses to endorse our walls. Grace flows freely, extending across the differences we use to separate “us” from “them.”
The true test of spiritual maturity is not how passionately we feel God’s presence but how widely we extend God’s welcome. To follow Jesus is to join the Spirit in breaking barriers, healing wounds, and expanding the circle of belonging.
Application: Extend a welcome across one boundary today—greet, listen, or serve someone you rarely engage with.
Writing Prompt: Where do you still draw invisible lines that God might be asking you to cross?
Prayer:
Boundary-breaking God,
erase the lines that limit love.
Teach us to see every person as a bearer of your image. Amen.
