Scripture: Haggai 2:5
“My Spirit abides among you; do not fear.”
Reflection:
The greatest gift that God offers people isn’t a new temple; it’s the promise of divine presence. “My Spirit abides among you” means that God’s nearness isn’t dependent on place or perfection. The Spirit that guided their ancestors through the wilderness now guides them as they rebuild.
That same Spirit remains with us through anxious meetings, lonely mornings, and difficult conversations. When we take the time to notice, we realize that God’s presence has been here all along.
Application:
Take three moments today to pause, breathe deeply, and silently repeat, “Your Spirit abides with me.”
Writing Prompt:
Where have you recently felt God’s Spirit “abiding” with you?
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, steady me in your presence. When fear arises, let your nearness calm my heart. Amen.
