Scripture: Colossians 1:11 (NRSV)
“May you be made strong with all the strength that comes from his glorious power, so that you may have all endurance and patience…”
Reflection
Paul’s prayer is not for quick fixes or easy solutions. It’s for the deeper strength needed when reconciliation progresses slowly. Healing—whether in our families, our churches, or our communities—rarely occurs overnight. It happens through the patient work of listening, forgiving, naming truth, and starting over.
And yet, we’re not left to gather this endurance alone. The strength Paul describes isn’t powered by willpower; it’s the strength that comes from staying connected to Christ’s presence. Love renews. Grace restores. Compassion expands our capacity.
As we start this week, especially during a season when life accelerates and emotions intensify, embrace the invitation to breathe deeply and trust that God’s power is working within you.
Application
Practice a small act of patience today—pause before replying, breathe before reacting.
Writing Prompt
Where do you need God’s strength to endure this week?
Prayer
God of patient love, strengthen us for the long work of healing and hope. Root us in your presence so that endurance becomes an expression of grace, not exhaustion. Amen.
