Scripture: Haggai 2:3
“Who is left among you that saw this house in its former glory? And how does it look to you now?”
Reflection:
The people compared their modest progress to the grandeur of Solomon’s temple, and the contrast broke their hearts. But God was not measuring size or beauty; God was blessing faithfulness. In God’s eyes, every act of rebuilding carries glory, because love is the mortar that holds it together.
We often overlook our small acts of faith: a simple prayer, a meal served, a kind word. Still, heaven notices what we miss. Every quiet “yes” to God helps build the kingdom among us.
Application:
Do one small thing today that helps rebuild hope, whether for yourself or someone else.
Writing Prompt:
When have you seen something small turn into something beautiful in God’s time?
Prayer:
God of small beginnings, bless my simple acts and unfinished work. Teach me to trust that you are building something lasting through love. Amen.
