Scripture: Mark 8:25 (NRSV)
“Then Jesus laid his hands on his eyes again; and he looked intently and his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.”
Reflection:
Sometimes we need a second touch before we can truly see. Like the man in Mark 8, we might see others—but not clearly. We see the surface. We see stereotypes. We see what’s convenient. But Jesus invites us to look again—to see people with spiritual clarity. To recognize their worth, their story, their belovedness—not because of what they offer, but because of who they are.
Application:
Spend 5–10 minutes today intentionally observing the people around you—with no agenda. Whether at work, in your neighborhood, or at a store, silently pray for each person you notice. Ask God to help you see them clearly.
Writing Prompt:
Who do you usually see through assumptions or filters? What would change if you looked again with Christ’s perspective?
Prayer:
Jesus, lay your hands on my vision.
Heal the ways I overlook, dismiss, or judge.
Help me see your image in each person I meet—
and respond with compassion, not indifference.
Amen.
