Scripture: Colossians 4:2 (NRSV)
“Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with thanksgiving.”
Reflection:
Prayer isn’t just a private discipline; it’s a communal act of devotion. The early church prayed together in homes and temples, through joy and hardship. Prayer is how we support each other spiritually, even when we can’t fix everything. It’s how we carry one another to God.
Application:
Pray with someone today—in person, on the phone, or through a voice message—lift someone up out loud and together.
Writing Prompt:
Who has prayed for you when you couldn’t pray for yourself? How did it shape your faith?
Prayer:
God who listens,
Thank you for the gift of prayer—spoken and silent, alone and together.
Help me be a person who holds others in prayer, faithfully and freely.
Amen.
