Scripture: Joel 2:28
“Then afterward I will pour out my spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.”
Reflection:
The outpouring of the Spirit turns scarcity into abundance. It reveals a God who doesn’t hoard holiness but shares it. The same power that once rested on prophets and kings now rests on neighbors, children, and elders. When we live open to this reality, we become channels through which God’s renewal flows into our communities.
The Spirit poured out is not meant to be contained. What God writes within the heart becomes visible through our lives — through acts of mercy, courage, and imagination. We are called to live like rivers, not reservoirs, allowing the Spirit to move through us toward a thirsty world.
Application: Take a walk or drive through your community asking, “Where might the Spirit already be at work?” Notice one sign of renewal or compassion—and thank God for it.
Writing Prompt: Describe a time when God’s Spirit surprised you through an unexpected person or situation.
Prayer:
Spirit of abundance, pour yourself through us.
Where there is dryness, bring life.
Where there is fear, awaken courage.
Where there is despair, breathe new dreams.
Make us vessels of your renewal. Amen.
