Scripture: Psalm 92:14
“In old age they still produce fruit; they are always green and full of sap.”
Reflection:
The promise of Joel includes old men dreaming dreams—a powerful reversal of expectation. In most cultures, dreams are linked with the young, but God refuses to retire anyone from purpose. The Spirit revitalizes those who think their time of impact has passed.
Similarly, young people are called to see visions—not of fantasy but of faith. The church thrives when each generation listens to the other, when wisdom meets wonder and courage meets care. The Spirit poured out across generations creates an ongoing conversation that keeps the church vibrant and whole.
No matter your age or stage, the Spirit continues to work within you. If you’re breathing, you’re called. God’s dreams are never outdated, and neither are you.
Application: Reach out to someone older or younger than you and ask about the dreams they’re praying for.
Writing Prompt: What dream or calling might God be reawakening in your current season of life?
Prayer:
Spirit of every generation,
keep our hearts supple, our hope alive,
our hands ready to serve your vision. Amen.
