Scripture: John 1:1–14 (NRSV)
Key Verse: “And the Word became flesh and lived among us.” (John 1:14a)
Reflection:
Christmas proclaims that love is not just an idea or a theory. Love becomes real. God chooses vulnerability, relationship, and closeness. The divine Word enters the world not with force, but with gentleness.
This is the essence of the incarnation: God draws near. God shares our humanity. God makes a home among us. Love does not stay distant or abstract; it lives, breathes, and dwells with us.
On Christmas Day, we are invited not only to celebrate love but also to receive it. To notice the everyday places where God continues to dwell among us.
Application:
Practice attentiveness today—slow down and fully engage in one ordinary moment as if it were a sacred one.
Writing Prompt:
Where do you currently see love quietly residing in your life?
Prayer:
Incarnate God,
thank you for choosing closeness.
Help us welcome your love into every part of our lives.
Amen.
