Scripture: Colossians 1:17 (NRSV)
“He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”
Reflection
Reign of Christ Sunday calls us to see Jesus not as a distant ruler, but as the love quietly holding the whole story—our story—together. Paul’s vision in Colossians isn’t triumphal; it’s tender. It shifts our focus from what feels scattered or strained to the One who keeps working toward healing and wholeness.
And that matters because life rarely moves in straight lines. Relationships break, institutions shake, and our own inner world feels fragmented at times. Yet Christ stands before it all—not to erase the hard places but to anchor us in a love that does not withdraw when things get complicated.
This holding-together love isn’t passive. It pulls us toward reconciliation, toward healing, and choosing connection even when fear urges us to retreat. Today, we rest in that center.
Application
Reach out to someone you’ve been distant from—no agenda, just kindness.

Where in your life do things feel “scattered,” and how might Christ’s reconciling love gently hold those pieces together?
Prayer
God, who holds all things, gather the pieces of our lives—our hopes, our wounds, our unanswered questions—into your healing presence. Help us trust the love that never lets go. Amen.
