Scripture: Isaiah 43:1 (NRSV)
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.”
Reflection:
Your Star Word arrived as a gift. You didn’t choose it. You didn’t earn it. You simply received it. That alone reveals the truth about grace. Grace always comes before understanding, effort, and intention.
It’s tempting to see our Star Word as an assignment—something to live up to, master, or fix in ourselves. But grace calls for a different attitude. This word isn’t a rule imposed on you; it’s a gift spoken to you. It meets you where you are, not where you think you should be.
As we think about grace this week, reflect on how your Star Word might focus less on what you are supposed to do and more on what God is already doing within you. Grace softly and patiently calls our name, trusting that transformation will happen in its own time.
Practice:
Hold your Star Word or visualize it in your mind. Take three slow breaths. With each breath, quietly repeat: “This is a gift, not a task.”
Journaling Prompt:
How does your Star Word feel different when you receive it as grace rather than expectation?
Prayer:
Gracious God,
thank you for calling us by name
and blessing us with gifts we did not earn.
Help us receive this word gently,
trusting that you are at work within us
even before we know how or where it will lead.
Amen.
