Scripture: Ecclesiastes 3:1 — “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.”
Reflection:
The wisdom of Ecclesiastes begins with a surprising statement: everything has its season. Nothing is beyond God’s concern — not joy or grief, not birth or death, not planting or uprooting. By recognizing the full range of the human experience, Scripture reminds us that all life matters to God.
We often resist this truth. We want to cling to the good seasons and rush through the painful ones. But the preacher of Ecclesiastes invites us to see each season as meaningful. God doesn’t waste our laughter or our tears. God is present in everything.
Application: Today, pay attention to the season you’re in. Don’t judge it as “good” or “bad” — just notice it and acknowledge it before God.
Writing Prompt: What season do I sense myself living in right now? What word or image describes it best?
Prayer:
God of all times, teach me to trust that this season of my life belongs to you. Help me not rush past or cling to it, but live faithfully in it with your presence beside me. Amen.
