Scripture: Colossians 1:27 (NRSV)
"To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."
Reflection:
Paul writes of a profound mystery: Christ not only reigns over the universe but also lives within us. This indwelling presence means the power and grace of God are not limited to temples or distant heavens—they are close, personal, and transformative. "Christ in you" isn’t just a poetic phrase; it’s a declaration that your life, even with its imperfections, is a sacred dwelling place of divine hope. This hope is not wishful thinking but a solid trust that God is still working in and through us. You may not feel glorious or holy, but Christ in you proves that God has already claimed your life for redemption, growth, and glory.
Application:
Carry a physical reminder of Christ's presence with you today—a cross, a small stone, or a word on paper. Each time you touch or see it, remember: "Christ in [me], the hope of glory."
Writing Prompt:
How does it change your sense of identity and purpose to believe Christ lives in you? What parts of your life still need to be touched by that hope?
Prayer:
Christ of glory, you live in me—not because I’ve earned it, but because of grace. Dwell more fully in every corner of my life. Let your presence become my strength, my peace, and my hope. Help me to live today as one who carries you within. Amen.
