Scripture: Galatians 6:2 — “Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
Reflection:
Jesus’ “easy yoke” is shared, not solitary. A yoke joins two together, distributing the load. Similarly, Christian rest is never just individual refreshment but a communal practice. We find renewal as we carry one another’s burdens, refusing to let anyone fall under the weight alone.
Our culture glorifies self-sufficiency, but Jesus calls us to interdependence. Resting together builds communities where no one is overworked, overlooked, or left behind. Rest becomes solidarity.
Application: Offer support to someone overwhelmed today — with a small act of kindness, a listening ear, or a prayer.
Writing Prompt: Who around me is burdened by heavy loads, and how might I help lighten their load?
Prayer:
Humble Savior, yoke me to your gentleness. Show me how to carry burdens with others, so that together we may find rest in you. Amen.
