Scripture (NRSV): Acts 4:13
“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were uneducated and ordinary men, they were amazed and recognized them as companions of Jesus.”
Reflection: Fear often convinces us that we aren’t ready to help others follow Jesus. We think we don’t know enough or aren’t spiritual enough. But Peter and John were ordinary men. What stood out was that they had been with Jesus. Fear says you’re not qualified. Faith says walking with Jesus is enough. Disciple-making doesn’t require perfection or expertise — it requires presence, courage, and a willingness to share what you’ve experienced.
Application: Take a step today that fear has been holding you back from—pray with someone, share encouragement, or tell a small part of your story of faith.
Writing Prompt: What fear often prevents you from disciple-making, and how might God want to help you overcome it?
Prayer: Lord, take my fear and replace it with faith. Let others see you in me, even in my ordinary life. Amen.
